Maggie Evans

Initially trained as a classical pianist, Maggie Evans discovered bass in high school when her brother was forming a grunge band. Since then Maggie has kept busy performing locally and internationally as both a jazz vocalist and electric bassist. She has performed with musicians/groups including The Andy Snitzer Quartet, Frank Catalano, Don Braden and Clare Daley and recently enjoyed a six-month residency as the featured vocalist at JZ Club in Hangzhou, China. Currently based in Savannah, Georgia, she plays regularly throughout the southeast with guitarist Howard Paul, saxophonist Jody Espina and her husband, guitarist Jackson Evans. In addition to her work as a musician, Maggie is a professional artist and regularly exhibits and lectures on her paintings and drawings throughout the country. She is also a Professor of Foundations Studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design where she teaches courses in drawing and design.
