There are two main categories of Elrick Guitars; the Hand-Carved instruments (which includes the Master Series, Platinum Series, Gold Series). These Hand-Carved instruments are made solely by Rob Elrick. He has no apprentices or helpers and each guitar or bass is built with few power assisted tools. No Instrument is made using pin routers, duplicators, shapers or CNC machines. Every instrument is lovingly ‘hand-carved’ by Rob using old-world chisels and knives – each one a testament to hand-carving that is gone (except for Elrick Bass Guitars) from any of the ‘namesake’ builders found in the MI Bass Instruments category. Hand-carved from the finest hardwoods. All models feature 2-way truss rods, custom Elrick bridge, Hipshot hardware, Dunlop Straploks, Bartolini pickups and 3-band active/passive pre- amp as original equipment.

The Master Series are Single-cut Thru-neck guitars and bass guitar which comprise instruments for the most discriminating musicians and collectors. These instruments feature a prix fixe menu of special options including; 5-piece thru-neck construction, choice of body wood, fretboard and scale length, full-face book-matched top and pickup covers, exclusive Master Series fretboard inlay and matching headstock emblem. Single- cut construction for unsurpassed stability and sustain. Hand-carved neck, heel and body contours and a choice of black, polished nickel or gold hardware. Hand-carved from the finest hardwoods. All models feature 2-way truss rods, custom Elrick bridge, Hipshot hardware, Dunlop Straploks, Bartolini pickups and 3-band active/passive pre- amp as original equipment.

The Platinum Series Basses Thru-neck Bass Guitar is available in a single-cut or double-cutaway configuration. Book-matched exotic wood top, hand-carved neck heel and body contours. Instruments with single-cut bodies offer unsurpassed stability and sustain, while instruments with double-cutaway bodies offer the more familiar appearance of a traditional bass guitar.

The Signature Series Single-cut Bass Guitars were developed with a specific musician or educator in mind. The tone and responsiveness demanded by our artists have led them to the Signature Series. Features may include; “Heel-less” body design makes these the most comfortable playing bolt-on neck bass guitars available. In order to achieve the utmost in stability as well as playability, necks are attached using five bolts in an asymmetrical pattern. Sassafras or alder bodies and book-matched exotic wood tops are included as standard features on all basses, 33” scale neck is attached using five bolts in an asymmetrical pattern for exceptional stability and playability, while a thru-body string option makes possible the use of standard scale strings.

The Gold Series Bolt-on neck Bass guitar is our most popular configuration, not only is it a familiar construction to most players, but because the “bolt-on” assembly continues to return a sound to the player that they have adored for many years. The Gold series basses are also the “biggest bang for the buck”, not only within Elrick product range, but also when compared to other brands in this price range.

The Gold Series Icon Bass Guitar is a modern 21 fret passive bass guitar featuring precision-style split neck pickups. A hum-can- celling jazz style bridge pickup may also be added to create a P/J pickup configuration. The unique body shape of the Icon bass utilizes our “heel-less” design, which makes Gold Series basses the most comfortable playing bolt-on neck bass guitars available.

The Elrick Standard Series basses are hand-made instruments utilizing the same select materials and components found on hand-carved Gold and Platinum Series instruments. The choice woods used in Standard Series instruments are the foundation upon which all Elrick Basses are built. Standard Series options are limited to those found on in-stock instruments. The use of CNC (and other modern machines) allows us to produce a less expensive option to the Hand-Carved instruments. These instruments also have gloss finishes and other appointments that are not available or cost effective not he carved series
