Classic 6. This is where it all started…

Gold Series Classic 6 – Zircote

Okay, well, this isn’t exactly where it all started, the original Elrick Basses did not feature bolt-on neck construction, but they were all Classic 6’s.  That’s right, ALL.  Obviously things change, but there’s nothing wrong with that, particularly if you’re a Darwinist.

This Gold Series Classic 6 is available from Guitar Planet in Japan.  Mahogany body with Zirocote top, maple neck with wenge fretboard.

If you’re not hip to Zircote, it’s a Central American ebony, and boards wide enough for a 6-string top are rare.

Here’s another Gold Series 5 in walnut.  This one is a distinguished figured claro walnut with wenge neck and fretboard, making for a very nice presentation.

Leadmusic in Geneva, Switzerland is the place to find this fab 5, Freddy not included.  (if you don’t get it, look it up, that’s what the internet’s for, ha!)

wall-nutz !!

For all y’all nuts for walnut, here’s a nice crotched walnut Gold Series 5 with birdseye fretboard.  This one will find it’s way onto a dealers wall, at least for a minute.  It’s headed north, but the last time I checked, Canada is still part of North America and the exchange rate favors the Yankee dollar.  If you dig it, don’t hesitate to bring this one home to the US of A.

This can be had from Toronto Dave Freeman (no, he was not in Ween, different guy) at Club Bass.

How about this DOPE Gold Series burled redwood 4-string with MOP blocks!!?

It’s election day in the US, and my vote is yes…

Rumor has it this one won’t get the chance to collect dust on the wall in Atlanta, but that doesn’t mean you can’t call Jim up and special order one for yourself.  I’d call a landslide win…      for you!    Congratulations.
